Moving a little farther, to about half way down East Hill.
Another card dating from the early 1900s. For some reason this one has left part of the front blank.
Although this postcard is undated the Post Office on the right still has its thatched roof, so it must be early 1900s.
Probably dating from the 1960s, with the exception of the 'new' Post Office roof little has changed. Modern services such as electricity have arrived. A copy of the postcard on the right is postmarked 1966.
Almost the same view a few years later. Note the growth of a small tree at the end of the building centre right.
2006, and the wooden telegraph poles have disappeared, but street lighting has been installed. The small tree and the hedge on the centre right are gone, but there are no apparent changes to the buildings. |
