East Hill - looking Down Page 3
Home Up

A final batch of postcards showing East Hill, there are all orientated in an 'upright' fashion. Arranging them in date order shows only minor changes to the view.

The apparently oldest postcard is postmarked 1906.

These are both postmarked 1907, but were probably produced at the same time as the previous one. Note the season's greetings overprinted on

the left hand card.

This card is postmarked 1918, but is undoubtedly from the same date

as the previous ones.

A later postmark of 1926, but again there is virtually no difference

between this and the other cards.

The present day view reinforces the changes mentioned on the other pages

of views looking down East Hill. The chapel has disappeared, its entrance

replaced with a car parking space, and the church and other buildings at

the bottom of the hill are almost obscured by the trees.
