Wolfeton Manor
Home Up

Wolfeton, the Manor House of Charminster, was built by Sir Thomas Trenchard in 1500, and was embellished in the 1580s. The house is situated to the south of the village, near the point at which the River Cerne, after flowing through Charminster, joins the River Frome.

Apart from 'cosmetic' work such as tidying outside the building, very little has changed externally over the years.

Because of the number of postcards there are of the house, I have created four separate pages:

  1. The Entrance
  2. The Front of the House
  3. The Rear of the House
  4. Nearby locations
